Inovata Foods Corp. was established by the Parsons family in 1989. Inovata Foods originally started as The Pasta Mill Ltd, a small business specializing in producing fresh pasta for retail outlets and local food services. In 1992, Inovata operated two fresh pasta retail outlets in Edmonton and continued to expand into the fresh pasta food service market. In 1994, the company expanded to a 5,000 sq. ft. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) registered facility and operated retail pasta outlets in Edmonton and Calgary. In 1997, Inovata Foods expanded its manufacturing operations to a new 20,000 sq. ft. CFIA registered facility in Edmonton. In 2001, Inovata increased their operations facility to 45,000 sq ft. More recently, Inovata Foods acquired Otter Valley Foods and their 95,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Currently Inovata Foods has a 45,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Western Canada and a 95,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located 100 miles from the USA border in Eastern Canada.
